Renewable Energies

The world’s energy industry has undergone several changes recently due to the consequences of using conventional energy-generating sources based on oil. These have been used during the development of industrialized and emergent countries.

The first noticeable consequence is the climatic change that has been taking place the last years by the action of greenhouse effect gasses and other contaminants produced by oil-derived hydrocarbons combustion. This climatic change creates noxious effects for both the planet and the living beings that inhabit it, so the world has taken the determination of preventing its evolution. This is reflected in the Kyoto Protocol, an international agreement aimed at reducing the emission of gasses that cause global warming.

The answer to this paradigm shift in the energy industry is the need, but also the opportunity, to replace fossil fuels by other renewable fuels and technologies as far as possible.
